TROUBLESHOOT

Accidental mouse scroll horizontally can cause the document to slide left which causes some characters on the left to flow beyond the left border. This is a bug in Windows that can be fixed by resizing the application in order to refresh its display.

CONFIGURATION FILES

See configuration files in folder %APPDATA%\Pimnote\

recent.list contains a list of filenames that were opened before. Pimnote will save this filename to this list when the app is closed. To delete a filename from the list, open recent.list in another editor other than Pimnote. Close Pimnote before saving change to this file or Pimnote will overwrite it when closed. Another method is to rename the file and try to open it from the recent list so that the app will prompt to delete this file name from the list.
find.list contains a list of keywoards that were used to find by pressing Enter. Pimnote will save this keyword to the list when the app is closed. To delete a keyword from the list, open find.list in another editor other than Pimnote. Close Pimnote before saving change to this file or Pimnote will overwrite it when closed.

The "unsaved" folder stores files that were still opened in a tab when Pimnote was closed. All unsaved files beginning with "new" will always be kept here until they were saved somewhere else.

FIND

Text input in the Find box will open the Find dropdown list and display the filtered result. After closing the dropdown list, all matched text in the document will be highlighted. Pressing Enter in the Find box will save the input into the dropdown list only when there's at least one matching.

LIMIT

File size over 100 MB will be truncated. File size over 100 KB will start to be opened slower. Some text editors including PimNote are not suitable for opening a very large file because the file's content properties such as encoding and new line characters must be scanned before opening which can take 6-7 times more. To open a large file, use a program with these content properties preset so that there is no check, or wait for this advance feature in the future.
